This website
The site uses no cookies, has no user accounts and no forms of its own. Search runs directly in your browser: what you search for does not reach us or anyone else.
A few elements are loaded from other sites, which therefore receive the visitor’s IP address, as with any image loaded from another site:
- the maps on the trail pages, from OpenTopoMap, OpenStreetMap and Waymarked Trails;
- hosting: Microsoft Azure, which keeps technical logs (for example the IP address) for a short time, for security;
- visitor statistics: Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits and pages viewed without cookies and without identifying you; we only see totals (for example how many visits a page had and from which countries).
Links to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and WhatsApp take you to those companies’ sites, where their own privacy rules apply.
Signing up for hikes
You sign up for a hike through a Microsoft Forms form in the club’s Microsoft 365 account. The form asks for your name, email address, phone number, age, transport details (whether you need a seat in a car, or whether you are driving and how many seats you have), acceptance of the terms and conditions, consent to data processing and confirmation that your health and fitness allow you to take part in that hike.
We use this data only to organise the hike: confirming participation, sharing cars, the messages before and after the hike, and contacting you in an emergency on the trail. The legal basis is your consent, given in the form. We keep the data only as long as needed for this purpose and do not pass it on to anyone.
Email, phone and WhatsApp
Messages sent to the club’s address reach the members of the club’s distribution list. Phone and WhatsApp messages reach the club’s coordinator. We use them only to reply to you.
Photos
We take photos on hikes. The ones we publish on the site and on the club’s social media pages mostly show the landscape and the trail. We publish photos of participants only occasionally, for example in an end-of-year retrospective. If you do not want to appear in published photos, tell us before the hike or write to us afterwards: we will not publish you, or we will remove the photo.
Donations
Donations are made by bank transfer to the club’s account. The bank gives us the donor’s name and the account the payment came from, and the club keeps these statements for as long as accounting law requires. On the Transparency page we publish totals only, without names.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to object to processing and to receive your data in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before. For any of these, write to us at servus@transilvaniaclub.ro.
If you are unhappy with how we use your data, you can complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
